good morning,
for years now, i have been experiencing freeze problems on rhenanie and normandie maps when approaching large cities on these maps.
the problems are mainly at take-off or during the game.
i've tried all the graphic parrameters, even the lowest, and i've never solved the problem!
FPS are perfect and I have nothing to say about that.

i'm just wondering, since i've been raising this issue for years, a lot of gamers don't have these problems.
do you think that the intel 13700k processor is not sufficient for this game or that it would be better to use a 13700 KF, i.e. without the integrated gpu, even if in my case (13700k) it is deactivated?
Do you think that's the problem?
I'd like to point out that I have the following hardware:
3090/24go vram
13700k
32 go ddr4
asus rog ddr4
gsync 1440x2560 screen
ssd m2 samsung
I have no problems with the other games and they run at full speed without a hitch.
i'd like to point out that before i had a 1080 ti and that i had the same problem with other hard disks (ssd...etc...), other memory sticks, another motherboard..etc...
so I suspect the processor....
of course all my drivers are up to date, nothing in the background...etc.... base is perfect.
I just can't seem to get a clean, smooth game under any circumstances.
I just don't get it anymore.

I'm not a real pilot, only on the computer, I didn't take part in the Normandy landings 1944, I didn't live through the Spanish flu of 1918.
thank you

TL:DR.  I dont think it’s a bug or related to specs. It’s the way the game loads assets post Kuban.

I stopped playing  the Rhineland map about a week after release for this reason ( amongst others) Same for Normandy.

After Kuban it seems 777 developed a new way of generating larger towns and cities. They said as much in their DDs  This, from what I see in game and in threads various where ( for instance) a mock London was made by the community, seems to involve using larger “ chunks” of scenery as opposed to individual buildings or smaller groups. Preload in previous maps would “roll in” detail as you approached. In later maps it renders larger chunks.

As such, what I suspect you get a preload smashing larger individual assets with perhaps fewer LODs into your memory caches at closer quarters. A kind of all or nothing situation. Especially obvious at lower levels. Once it’s in there all is well, until you fly some distance away and return or move to a new area. Something you can experience as a result of the increasing fluidity of the game, the longer you loiter over a city.

As for others not having issues I’ve had it through 3 PCs, windows 10 and 11 , Intel and AMD chips and  3 generations of GPUs.   I’m very familiar with windows optimisation and what is snake oil. I’ve long since learned to take the anecdotal comments of others with a pinch of salt. Each person has their own tolerances.

hello and thank you for your reply,

so in the end, there's nothing we can do to eliminate this problem?

not great! and...sad....
well, to forget the freezes and all that before playing I'll drink a big glass of vodka to the health of the developers.
thanks anyway!!!
