playing game via IL-2 Sturmovik: Great Battles while i have bought it from Steam.

Hi all,

 

Maybe it is answered somewhere in this forum. I always launched Sturmovik via Steam, butits getting more and more problems to launchit from there. So i deinstalled it and installed it now from IL-2 Sturmovik: Great Battles. That launche the game correctly, but when in game i cannot fly some planes, like 109e7 and otheres. I guess it has to do that i bought the game via Steam. Is it possible to fly all the planes i bought when launching IL-2 Sturmovik: Great Battles? Is there a fix for? I have Stalingrad, Moscow, Kuban and Bodenplatte.

But please tell us what problems you're having with launching IL2 from Steam, we'll probably be able to help you

Well, yes, but that doesn't help you to run IL2 through the non-Steam installer, which is not possible regardless of if you've linked your accounts or not

 

If you've bought the game through Steam, you're required to play it through Steam. Still, as said, we may be able to help with getting the game to run.

Seems impossible to launch via Sturmovik. Although it's a lot better to play trough that.

 

Steam gives me always a problem when i exit the game: Screen is freezing and i have to launch taskmanager to close the game. Is there a fix for so the game close by itself properly when i exit?

Hello,

Do you have fullscreen on the game? Also, what kind of Specs does your computer have? (Graphics card, etc).

If you are in Fullscreen, try to untick the fullscreen but retaining the native resolution and try again. I remember I had some issues once and fixed it that way ?

I purchased/own the Steam version, but I launch it by directly executing the .exe file in its steamapps/common directory without having the Steam app running.  I guess my account is linked, for I've purchased multiple extensions and aircraft from the IL2 web store and everything runs just fine.
