Wardogs departure announcement. 5/28/2023

Hello Il-2 pilots,

I wanted to post this to hopefully minimize rumors and speculation about recent changes on the IL-2 forum and Discord.
As a very small number of people on the forum were already aware, I submitted my resignation to the IL-2 team back in late April, with a planned off payroll date of May 28th, 2023.

I wish to thank the MOD staff for covering my 6 while I dealt with issues in real life that are a major distraction.
My decision to leave was not made in haste but was driven by changes in my personal life that have left me with very little time or interest for video gaming, my hobbies or anything other than caring for an ailing family member over the past few months. Dealing with real world issues outweighs anything happening in the virtual world and will be my primary focus for the foreseeable future.

Like most everyone here, I am excited for the new release to be announced, but the honor of doing so will belong to my successor. That having been said, here are the answers to some questions that you probably have.

1)   I am NOT leaving because I am upset, angry or disgruntled with 1CGS or the IL-2 team. Quite the contrary. I have enjoyed working with everyone on the IL-2 team and will miss them.
2)   There is a transition plan already in progress and the open CM position will be filled by a person you know from the community.
3)   YES, I do know what the next project is. NO, I will not tell you. Please don’t bother trying to contact me for info, as the answer will remain the same as it has been in the past. ?
4)   I will be dropping off all the IL-2 social media sites indefinitely to make item 3 easier to enforce.
5)   At some point, I may show up back on the forum and discord, but as a player, and nothing else. When that may be is unknown, but not any time soon and not before the new release.

I’m sad to be leaving, but change is a constant in life and in mine especially.
Farewell to the friends I’ve made over the past 8 months, and I wish you all the best as IL-2 moves into the future.
