Logitech Throttle Quadrant

Purchased & installed recently (3 weeks ago) and worked properly until 4 days ago. Tried re-booting, different USB port, re-mapping but it it's still not working as it did on the first install. Is there a possible conflict with the JS (Logitech Extreme 3d Pro) or is it a software issue, perhaps with the recent update. I'd be grateful for any advice out there.

Cheers

Probably need more information.  What’s it doing?  The light is on?  I doubt there is a conflict with the Logitech joystick.  Did you manually install a Logitech driver?  I always used the Logitech (or previously Saitek throttle) devices as pure plug and play.  Some of them became jittery and unreliable after a short period of time, but never that soon.

First and foremost, is it recognized by Windows, or otherwise working in other games?

LED light is on. Since there was no instruction or CD to put driver SW, I assumed a plug'n'play device which is exactly what happened, even though I probably mapped the levers incorrectly, I had an independent mixture, RPM and throttle control. A few day ago this was no longer available and I re-mapped but now all I can achieve is a throttle which is also automatically linked to the RPM, so 2 levers are redundant.

I have downloaded SW from Logitech just in case but it's made no difference. I don't see the device listed anywhere and when mapped, the settings recognise it as a joystick. However, the "proper" JS still functions as before. So I'm confused as to what I may have (inadvertently) changed and have no idea how to rectify atm. Any advice will be gratefully received and tried!

Okay, so you have some function, but not all function. (note that in IL-2 it will be called a "joystick-#", not a throttle, or even pedals once you get those). When setting up a device, sometimes it is necessary to move the lever back and forth to get a recognition, and even then you may have to open the input response screen, save, then open it again for that screen to become active. I will assume you are doing that, so a couple more questions: (1) what realism settings are you using, especially the Piloting Asistance ones?

(2)  does the problem persist over different control profiles?

I have the throttle quadrant and it works perfectly in IL2. Have you tried restarting the mapping from scratch?

I will check the piloting assistance, I haven't deliberately changed this at any time but will ensure only auto pilot is ticked. Yes I have tried re-mapping from scratch but it has the same result. One question: we have 3 options to map the settings for each function, which one is the dominant selection and will be used if, for example, the default is a double keystroke and is replaced or re-mapped to an external device such as the throttle, RPM or mixture. I'm not absolutely clear about this.

Thanks for the input, it's much appreciated. <S>

Where is the check box for piloting assistance? The user profile makes no difference, I've tried 2 so far. I now see the game recognises the JS as "joy0" and the quad throt as "joy1" so it see the differences...

There is not dominant selection. All can be used at the same time, with crazy results.

Go to the Realism box in the quick mission screen, and the choice will become the default.

That did it, all the check boxes were "checked". How that happened I don't know as I've not touched it. But thanks, now all I need to do is reconfigure the views and no doubt there'll be a few other anomalies. Thanks cardboard_killer <S>
