Sireyn Posted May 22, 2023 Posted May 22, 2023 For the last several patches (and not before) I've noticed my AI wingmen flying far too close in formation, frequently colliding during turns. This is most often the plane to the rear flying up to the side of a forward aircraft and then hitting wings or spearing the cockpit with a wingtip. -I started a Normandy campaign in a P-47 with an air spawn, and four of my wingmen crashed into each other within the first minute -I went back to Battle of Moscow in a Bf 109 F-2 and the same occurs. -I also observed this while watching a friend stream Battle of Stalingrad in an La-5 2
Gutermann Posted May 23, 2023 Posted May 23, 2023 its the same for ww1 and its in all the mission so far my escort always lost 1 or 2 or even more to collision.

It literally plagues every aspect of your game that involves formation flying. It’s in all your quick missions. It’s in all your scripted campaigns. You already have the mission files. Do you not play and test the game yourself? Impossible not to see it. There’s tons of Reddit posts and similar posts all over the forum. You release update after update yet you’ve acknowledged this issue last year. Unbelievable. 2

The QA team needs the mission files that are generated that show what this problem is - where it's happening, why it's happening, etc. As has been explained before, the QM mission files are there in the data/missions folder, _gen.mission. And equally important, if not more, are the track file recordings showing when this happens. 12 hours ago, Malulani said: It literally plagues every aspect of your game that involves formation flying. That's a gross overstatement. 12 hours ago, Malulani said: It’s in all your quick missions. Then just attach an example mission file, as I've explained above here, and explain in a few sentences what the problem is - what sort of mission it is, the skill level of the AI, the planes used, etc. 12 hours ago, Malulani said: It’s in all your scripted campaigns. If that really was the case, then we'd be seeing a lot more reports. Again, the team needs the track file recordings showing when the problem occurs. 12 hours ago, Malulani said: Do you not play and test the game yourself? Yes, and I'm also on the forums for 4-plus hours a day doing CM work, in addition to the other job that occupies my time. If time allows I have maybe 2 hours in the evening to fire up the game and play a mission or two. Beyond that, yes, we have a whole team of beta testers, and to date, they are not seeing the massive problems of the AI crashing into each. So, is the issue that big, or is it confined to a few specific cases? That's something not clear right now, and that's why more track and mission files are needed.
