Mosquito Single & Cooperative Mission: Precision Strike

Took some time to make this mission for the Mosquito fans. It's fictional, but of course 'inspired' by true events.

Unzip in your IL2 folder or use mod manager. Look for the mission in the folder "Syndicate".

 

Situation:

The town hall in the centre of Hesdin is being used as a Gestapo office. It's administration includes all the files the Germans have on the local partisan groups. Recently a mole was exposed by the resistance and it is of vital importance that the reports submitted by this agent are all destroyed. For this special mission the Mosquitos of 85 Sqn will fly from RAF Brenzett, having transferred from West Malling yesterday evening. A flight of Typhoons from 174 Sqn will provide cover on the return flight.

 

Orders:

Destroy the town hall in Hesdin. This is to be a precision strike, carried out at very low level to avoid collateral damage. As the day of the raid is on a Sunday there will be a minimum of civilian staff present in the building. However, a church is located directly opposite of the town hall and if this gets hit there may be many innocent victims. Besides the church all town houses in the vicinity of the target should not be hit. An anti-aircraft battery is located to the west of the village.

Thanks Vander that is an excellent mission and studying the town layout is a must seeing that the town hall is not marked, the mission is very much like Operation Carthage when RAF mosquitoes attacked and bombed the Gestapo HQ which was housed in the Royal Dutch Shell building in the center of Copenhagen . perhaps a couple more missions along the same lines !

Updated the mission files. Now also includes a cooperative version for multiplayer.

Good stuff! Thank you SYN_vander!

 

Played the single player version. That was a tough nut to crack. I ended up with some collateral damage but destroyed the target and made it back to my home field with the rudder shot off. ?
