AI gunner better now

Gotta say, the AI gunner has improved a lot compared to back then when I had a lot of problems with it in 2021. Made a few but reports too back then.

Now I can stop the gunner if I want to and have my whole platoon target a single enemy to watch him go down in glorious gunfire!

you mean that the bug of the shooter who starts shooting "automatically" and refuses to stop despite orders is solved?

Yeah, by the looks of it, its fixed for a while even.

In the command menu, you hit F1 and then F4 and the gun stops.

Oooh no, in the previous version, the bug was still present... to see, this morning, it worked as it should (but on a short session of 5min...)... but not sure that we had the same bug all of a sudden... what was it you?

How do you evaluate that? In the last version, in the last 2 weeks I did a lot of singleplayer testing of my mission and playing Tip's Assault Gun campaign, play time would roughly be between 10 - 14 hours, I encountered the gunner automatically targeting after selecting "do like me" in the "assign targets" (press command menu -> F1 -> F4 -> F3) section twice. Those two times the bug went away as soon as I ordered "target by mission" (press command menu -> F1 -> F1 -> F3) and then immideately "do like me" again. Back in 2021 that didn't work, now it does.

Maybe you do things differently than me, my way makes it fine and fun and I recommend it.

I'd like to believe this is true.  But given the low level of attention paid to TC, I doubt it was actually addressed and fixed.

If we encounter it again, we can mention it here. And see if the way of fixing it in the field still works.

not sure to understand well... by playing it, simply. to "normally" not have an automatic gunner, I give him the orders "shoot on my order", and "do as I do". often, when the bug starts, the commander automatically gives information on such and such a vehicle, then the shooter starts his automatic firing...

 

the bug is still present, I had it during my last game, but the shooter responded faster to the order to stop...

 

the bug has been reported since the beginning of TC, and I don't know if it has been reported in this section would be useful...

I get that, the big difference is that you can order the gunner to stop nowadays, before my long pause from TC you couldn't stop the gunner. Thats what I had been reporting and thats why I said that I'm happy that I can actually stop the gunner now.
