I know that there are already some pages dedicated to some tank simulations that exist, or will appear...

as it is not possible to create a specific sub-part in the Tank crew forum, I allow myself to make a topic special Tank, and to also group together certain links from other pages already created, for more ease in finding information, exchanging...

here is already some topic:

Gunner heat

a game that takes place during the Cold War: West German vehicle against East Germany, such as Abrams, M60A3 TTS, M1IP / T-55A, T-72M1, BMP-1... but also light vehicles, such as a jeep...

it's realistic, an arrow shell and, apart from a stroke of luck, it's death, no icon...

very nice terrain, realistic, which smells good of the GDR and all that, and which allows you to play with this one according to the unevenness, with the vegetation (the AI does not seem to have a bionic vision of the future...).. .

the ballistics seem good, there is even a system to help understand what missed or succeeded in our shooting (a bit like WT...)

on the other hand, no interior (visible) ... for the moment ....

there seems to be quite a lot of missions to do, and for some, it seems to contain randomness

another positive point, there is already infantry (on fixed positions) and this one is dangerous... later, there will be "mobile" infantry...

a game that seems correct at the optimal level (no problem with an I7 and an RTX 2080...), for something really great.

Steel Gear

an impressive work, because carried out by only ONE person...
a game that takes place during the Battle of Stalingrad (at least on the plains that border it, for now?)...

for the moment there is only the Pz IV F2 and the T34 as a controllable tank, but others are planned for the release (planned for 2025...) like a Marder, or a T60, possibly...

another impressive thing is that, like a DCS, but for char, you can interact/click with all (or almost all...) of the tank:
-you want to start your tank, you will have to pump...
- you want to increase the speed of your turret rotation, you must start the turret auxiliary motor
you shoot Hans? put on the ventilation, it stings the throat...

there is also a system of order, and of course a system of ballistics/penetration/dispersion...

a Beta is planned for the end of the year, for those who could not buy the previous version...

Tank Squad

another tank game on the Eastern front, but which does not exclude, according to the feedback from the players, a game on the Western front!

for now there will be Tiger, Pz IV, Pz III, T34, KV 1 and even a T70!

the terrain looks very nice, it is if I am not mistaken in the setting of Kursk: large space, isolated villages and anti-tank trench... a big emphasis seems to be put on the terrain and the physics of the tanks.

presence of infantry, vehicles, artillery... but above all, where a large number of simulations are based solely on combat, there will be a part here on the management of your tank, the repartition, the squad, his crew before combat...

it's quite nice, but the developers seem concerned not to overload our CPUs and GPUs too much, to see...

they are in any case very attentive to the historical aspect, a lot of research...

Steel Fury:

quite old (even very old...), but the large community of modders has kept this game alive (and still brings it alive), filling it with a slew of missions, campaigns and tanks (even certain being only projects...)

THE Steel Fury mod site (be careful, some links are sometimes dead...): https://wikiwiki.jp/pzfr/Steel Tank Add-on

on the other hand, as it's old (and despite the mods...) it stings the eyes...

Good old ArmA3 is great for tanks too, different stations, assign targets to gunner, platoon control. Also the Tanks & Global Mobilization dlc has some nice armor too.

it looks rather nice... but suddenly, it's exclusively cold war? are there WWII tanks with interiors?

Its the Global Mobilization DLC, which has its own map and West & East German factions in the 80s. Straight up the best thing you can get for arma if you ask me. There is a ww2 mod that uses the assets from Iron Front. The commander has interiours, if you are willing to share them with a floating personal weapon.

Sprocket is missing a lot of things (e.g. all sights are stabilised, driving is in 3rd person)... but it is surprisingly realistic in some respects... and it is focussed on designing tanks, so a somewhat different goal than a full tank sim. Anyway, probably worth checking out.

sight stabilized? I have the game, and I don't have a stabilized sight... for driving indeed, no interior view... but it makes up for it with a very well detailed internal model (not visible) (it goes up to to take into account the distance between the stowed shells and the magazine in the reload time...)

the game is in its early stages, but the objectives are to allow later creation of single and multiplayer missions and battles, not just focus on construction

Ah! The camera view is stabilised (as is the player's chosen aim-point) - but the gun isn't stabilised... if that makes sense?

I'm looking forward to the internal systems modelling... and part of me is hoping that the dev will make an expansion with MCLOS missiles once their other goals are done... would expand the designs to be experimented with into the early Cold War era.

I'd probably buy this.

Sprocket is great if you like games where you design stuff and then test it in challenging missions
