Question on the reconnaissance patrol

Recommended Posts

I started the career mode in FC V2 and have been stuck in the 3rd mission for days now and am slowly going insane.
Goal: Reconnaissance
Solo flight in DFW CV
In the target area I go e.g. into sector A and fly over in 80 m height.
Then I press WIN+1, select A and the target I have just flown over, e.g. a field cannon.
The default is always "Wrong Target - Try again

No matter which target or which sector. What am I supposed to do here???

At some point there are 5 Sopwith Triplanes that are all out to get me and then it's over anyway...?
I'm probably somehow too stupid...?.

Its been a few weeks since I last tried the "aerial reconnaissance" mission, but let me see what I remember. There are three points marked on the map for you to visit. At each of these locations there are several objects on the ground, such as howitzers, cannons, AA, trucks, tanks, balloons, encampments, etc. I recall there being 3-4 in each marked square. As far as I can tell (and I may be wrong), the object you are flying closest to will be the one the script thinks you are trying to spot. Since you can't look straight down, I often end up looking a bit sideways, which means that what I am looking at and what the script thinks I'm looking at are not the same, so when I select the thing I am looking at I am told it is the wrong object.

What I recommend is to try it with icons on a couple times and see what the ground objects look like so you can see where they are all hiding. Try turning on invincibility and unbreakable and fly down to 500m and take a good close look without worrying about flak or enemy planes. Figure out what you need to do to get it to work correctly, then go back and try again without invincible or unbreakable or icons, raise your altitude to 1-2km and see how you do.
