Making MP more goal orientated

My first suggestion was based around having some mystery with regard to player numbers, or maybe their division between factions. It received mixed feedback.

Always a glutton for punishment I thought I would have another crack at the whip, but from a slightly different angle.

My suggestion this time to try and encourage teamwork and mission diversity on MP servers is to hide the player stats board for each side until such time as the mission goals, for that particular side have been achieved. If the mission ends before the mission goals have been achieved then tough, no stats, no points, nothing. If you like, the stats/score sheet etc is a reward for completing mission objectives.

An example might be destroying a bridge or disrupting an enemy attack. This might involve aircraft other than fighters or at the very least fighters with debilitating load outs that then require covering aircraft to support them. Everybody might still choose to fly fighters but they just won't achieve anything unless somebody volunteers to fly ground attack and they only stand a chance if the fighters support them.

To sum up, if you want the reward of seeing how you and your side have done, during or after the mission then first off you need for your side to achieve it's mission objectives.

I would also venture that any points acquired during the mission, even if not seen because goals weren't achieved, would also not be added to players grand totals.
