I am starting to run out of USB ports and was thinking of adding a hub or 2.

Question is if it's best to get one with many ports or get 2 smaller ones?

I don't know much about the technical stuff behind this but I suppose if I use one hub all the data need to go through one USB port. Can it handle that or is it better to split it into two ports?

I was thinking of a powered USB 3 hub with separate on/off switches, will that be a good choice?

Feel free to recommend something that can be found on Amazon.

What stuff is best to connect to the hub and what stuff is best to connect directly to the USB port of the computer?

I have the regular things, keyboard, mouse, monitor and then joystick, throttle, pedals, button box and a VR headset.

I have two ea of 7 port USB3 Powered hubs with individual on/off switches. Love em. They also each have 4 addtional USB Charging ports.

All my periphery /controllers are plugged into them. Only exception is my Aero VR headset, I have it plugged into it's own dedicated USB3 port on front panel of motherboard.

These are the powered hubs I got:

The data bandwidth on one USB3 port is hugely more than any number of sim controllers need (not including a VR headset of course). :)

Thanks, that was what I was concerned about.

Now that I know, I will go with one USB-hub.?
