I've noticed that the balloons in Flying Circus also seem to be coming down pretty fast, though I've never actually timed the things. I wonder if a mod like this could be made to work for FC? 1
Dupxo Posted December 10, 2024 Posted December 10, 2024 (edited) Yes i know - old topic. But the answer is yes. RoF and FC share a lot of similar files. Use UnGTP and in (null) folder find data-luascripts-worldobjects-balloons. In this folder you have 4 .txt files: "aetype", "caquot", "drachen", "parseval". In this file you have line "CordSpeed". Default should is set to 20. Change value of "CordSpeed" to for example 10.0 and you have just reduced speed of balloon winches. Activate modified file via JSGME. PS. If you don't like firing about 150 7.7 mm MGs bullets to the balloon and you want to make it more vulnerable lower the value of "Armor" (default value is 5) for example to 3. But as i said you can always change "Armor" value. Lower it to 2.5 and now you need only half amount of bullets to shot down the balloon. 1

Search for file named "slower_balloons.zip" that was posted 6/23.
giftgruen Posted December 11, 2024 Posted December 11, 2024 Really ? They are quite easy to kill, sometimes you need more than one approach, yes, and sometimes the guarding planes will hunt you before you are able to shoot down the ballon but ... is it good to make it an even easier task ?

This is his decision and this is magic of modding the files. You almost create game on your own rules. If he wants to destroy balloon faster he just needs to adjust one value as he desires . 150 (one hundred and fifty) bullets to burn one stupid balloon filled with hydrogen is unrealistic and irritating.
