Disabling the cockpit view...

Hi, guys... I have just downloaded FC vol. 1 and I just wanted 2 know how can I disable the cockpit view and keep just the gunsight as this was the case in IL-2, many-many years ago.

Do you know where/how can I download the game manual?

There is no way to disable the cockpit view like you want to.

What a lot of guys do,  is create a gunsight view bound to a particular key which is zoomed in on the gunsight. Then you can fly and look around immersively in the cockpit, but when you want to fire, press and hold that key and you have your gunsight view.

 

I repurpose the default kp8 (look up?) as its pretty useless, then bind that to a handy button on my joystick. 

The manual will give details,  but moving the pilots head around is something like ins, del, page up, page down, curser up/down, zooms... while holding your chosen button down.  Press F10 to save it.
