Olisko01 Posted May 11, 2023 Posted May 11, 2023 The skins are downloaded, but they show up for none of the planes. Here is an example where I tried to select the skins for the 11th squadron. This is happening despite me downloading all the skins, but none are showing up.
PatrickAWlson Posted May 12, 2023 Posted May 12, 2023 The purpose of this screen is to allow you to assign personal skins to individual pilots. There are no usable personal skins in that list. The skins shown are all designated squadron skins. PWCG will not allow you to assign another squadron skin to one of your squadron pilots. PWCG does not show your squadron skin because it is already the default. The buttons mean: Squadron: Configured personal skins that can be used only by your squadron. Non Squadron: Configured personal skins that can be used only by any squadron. Loose: Skins that have not been configured by PWCG. Any non configured skin can be used as a personal skin. With he advent of tactical markings, simple personal skins are no longer needed. The tactical markings now serve that purpose. There are still some distinct skins that can be used, mostly German. If you make a new skin it should show up under loose skins.

Can I ask why the 11th squadron skin in the default game is different than the one you made? Did the devs mess it up?

At one point squadrons swapped them around. I think it was supposed to confuse the Germans ... not sure at all about that. Or one of us messed up. I just googled for profiles of the unit. Didn't take it further than that.
Guest Posted May 13, 2023 Posted May 13, 2023 I still get Hurricanes with no markings and Spitfires with russian ones (BoN map, August 1942). But it's random, sometimes they both have the correct RAF markings. Some kind of weird glitch.

Just wish that the markings would not overlap the letters of the plane, but it is alright.

If a plane is not configured to use tactical markings it won't. If I am using a squadron skin that already has tactical markings then that is my mistake. Otherwise, the markings should be going blank skins.

Sorry for the amount of questions I am throwing at you and thank you for answering them all so far. But I was also wondering if the recon squadrons are able to be assigned offensive patrols? I know that in 1917 the 11th Squadron was used for offensive patrols quite extensively. I believe the 11th had 19 ACEs and 300 confirmed vicories, so it is a bit intersting that by default none of the AI pilots have any victories when you start a new campaign. Eitherways I abseloutly love this. I have played the default campaign a lot and this is just so much better and more importantly COOP compatible!

Yeah, the only issue is that I think it would then block the other letter, but so far I saw that the default one they use is the one to the left. Also is there a way I can add combat patrols to the squadron myself?

Also is there a way I can add combat patrols to the squadron myself? No, there isn't. PWCG only generates one mission for a squadron and there is no way to build one by hand.

Ah alright. I was hoping to do some combat patrols as the 11th since they did that a lot, but It's alright. Thanks again!
