It would be good if someone could create a mod to reduce the obtrusive lighting of the vehicles.

I'm not sure what you mean?

You mean to have a mask in front of the headlight with only an horizontal strip that is open to let some light out.

You are right during the war this was done like that but here this is not modelled here.

If we could switch on and off the vehicle, train or ships lights that would be already enough if you ask me.

That would be ideal!

You can turn them on and off for the player vehicle. (Right Shift L) So you want to turn them off for the AI? Most likely that can be done in the luascript, but it would be always off.

I never tried this, but I thought you could turn them on and off with the MCU force complete?

Oops. I thought this was the mission making forum. ?

I can confirm that if you set LightsCount = 0 in the AI vehicle luascript then they will not show any lights at night.

The user playable vehicles do not have the same option for editing their luascript.

Thank you, MajorMagee! That would be enough for me. How do I edit the Luascript?

You need ungtp-il2.exe to extract the scripts.gtp file. The txt files you need to edit are in the data/luascripts/worldobjects/vehicles folder. Those would then be temporarily placed in the game using JSGME following the same folder structure.

You can even command your group "if you're the commander" to turn the lights on and off among a few things!
