Hello to everyone !  
 

I am organizing with Les IRREductible squadron  a memorial flight retracing the air operations of the 101st Airborne, more exactly of the 435th and 441st Troop Carrier Group which parachuted the 501st Parachute Infantry Regiment over Normandy during Operation Neptune. 
 

**This event will be 100% C-47 on allied side**

**Quick briefing **

*FLIGHT ORGANISATION*

 

> 435th and 441th Carrier Troop Group
> 1 Commanding officier per group for coordination
> 4 squadrons per group with historical identification
> 9 planes per squadron in a arrowhead formation
> 3 V of 3 planes formation in close formation

=> Total of 72 C47 dropping 1152 paratroopers in two waves !

 

*PAYLOAD & SETUP*

 

> 16 US paratroopers (preselected)
> Radio ILS (preselected)
> Fuel : 2000 L
> Camo: US DDay + historical identification numbers 

 

*COMMUNICATION*

 

> SRS CHAN 1 : for coordination between CTG used by Commanding officier
> SRS CHAN 2: Internal channel between squad leader and Officier of the 435th CTG
> SRS CHAN 3: Internal channel between squad leader and Officier of the 441th CTG
> Any Discord or teamspeak for internal COM inside the squadron (please join othe squadron discord or TS whith wich you will flight or join our own discord where we will make a briefing and host dedicated channels for this event)

=> A briefing room will be created on this discord with as much channel as needed for the event
 

Once FLATBUSH turning point passed:
> No more Radio Coms
> No more navigation lights, only formation lights !
> Hold the formation on direct sight and by night !
 

*NAVIGATION*

 

> Each groups is taking of and regrouping over it's airfield
> Lasham for the 435th
> BlackBush for the 441th
> Regrouping of both CTG over EKLO (Southampton) meeting points
> Pushing from FLATBUSH (Wight island) turning point 
> Last Turn over HOBOKEN signal boat before going over the Cotentin
> Spleeting between 435th and 441th in two waves spaced by 5 min
 

*TARGETS*

> 435th CTG : Drop zone D at 01:26
> 441th CTG : Drop Zone C at 01:31
