Mmm, not quite. ? The airfields are all based on their 1944 pattern, plus there are a lot of airfields there right now that didn't exist in 1940. And, there's the whole lack of London thing.

Surprising that nobody mentions Aesthetics and actual Performance. While the Bigger Supercharger reduces Power by about 100 low down, it also doesn't have the Blisters any more, so the Power Reduction results in only a very small Top Speed Reduction Low Down.

Climb Rate Suffers somewhat, but also not dramatically.

However, being able to have full Power available at over 9000m in the non-MW50 Versions, in an early 1944 Scenario, does put it quite squarely against P-38s and P-47s.

Some good arguments here about the bigger nose cowling. I forgot about that.

Shamrockonefive says G6/AS is 18 km/h faster in combat mode (excluding sea level) than other G6 but this is based after game info at a different altitude...

Can someone check combat mode speed with same manual radiator setting at 1000/2000/3000m between G6/AS and G6 late ?

I think you alluded to it but I'll say it anyways that I'm reading that information off of the data that 1CGS provided and then doing a tiny bit of extrapolation/guesswork. If someone wants to spend the time to compare performance on different power settings at different altitudes across the range of G-6s, I'd be fascinated to see the results.

Decide for yourself if the [DB605 AS] or [DB605 ASM] is a good fit for your flying style. For a better overview I have color coded the different engine blocks:

Wow. Some lot of time spent here !

According the excel grid, G6/AS combat mode is faster than G6 late only above 7000m...
Emergency mode with MW50 is slightly faster at 1000/2000m than G6 late surpringsly

I just bought the G6AS heavily discounted…mostly because I’m a crackhead about collecting all the BF109 and FW190 variants.

Would also pay full freight for a G10 to round out the set ?

If anyone is looking for a place to use that high altitude performance of their G6/AS, come check out my new server:

Is there much of a weight difference between the G-6 Late and G-6/AS (assuming both with MW-50)?

Around 76 kg for 'standard weights' according to game stats.

(btw  this link may be useful)
