Can someone please tell me what we do with the pilot's photo images. Do we install the folders they are in or just the image files, and where do we put them or are there just for personal reference

Not sure what you mean here. 

 

Are you referring to the pilot images from PWCG?

Sorry there are links to files above the skin downloads from Gooseh skins page. When you download them inside are pictures of pilots and what looks like screen shoots of the skins. I think they are just for reference but I thought you could add them to the pilots image folder but they don’t look to be named correctly so I think they are just for reference if I’m correct.

OK got it.  Yeah, those are just for reference.  Ace pictures are already included in PWCG in any case.

Some pilots can't have skins assigned in PWCG. If you click on the aircraft picture in pilot's folder there's no option to assign a skin. Presumably these supposed assigned by PWCG?

Those are the ACES...so:

- IF PWCG has an ace skin available for that aircraft/timeframe, then it will appear automatically as the assignment is handled in the ace file.  This process works VERY well for the 1916-1918 timeframe - assuming yo have downloaded the requisite skins.

- IF there is no skin available then the default squad skin should be used - but we've seen some default skins appear as well.  Sigh.

 

...if you see what looks like an exception to the process above then shoot me a message with the deets and I will run it down and correct it if possible.

I've got all German single and bomber PW skins so most unassigned show up as default skins. I should be able to assign the right skins by editing the ace files?

Indeed.  But...IF I did my job right, they should already be assigned!

The flight leader in last Jasta 11 mission had default skin and one couldn't be assigned. I'll have to check I have your latest data files.

Yeah,  I saw that when I watched the video.   The other skins looked great tho'.  I have the date - 10/06/1917 - and will investigate.

The ace with the missing skin on your RoF set-up is Lothar von Richtofen. 

 

He appears correctly on my latest ace files.  See screenie below.  Here are the ace file entries for his Alb DIIIs and DVa:

Yes I have those skins but not sure about if I have the latest files. The last files I downloaded was a fair while back.

There seems to be a problem with the large number of Albatros DVa skins. Jasta 6 skins were showing in the files but not in PWCG or any part of the game. Only as far down the list as Jasta 5 then double digit units. I had to delete many unit skins for J6 and 7 to be selectable.

Known issue in game as only a certain amount of skins are listed on the hangar menu.  Good thing the settings there are "sticky".

 

You sure about the PWCG skin screen? (Assuming you are referencing the lower right 'Mixed skins quadrant, yes?)

All 2,000+ skins are listed there for me.

There are skins listed on the PWCG top of screen with names like Lion, Skull and Snake. Whatever they are. But many Albatros DVa skins weren't listed until I deleted Jasta 67 onward.
