Installing Original IL2+FB+AEP on Windows 10/11 (Working)

1. Install IL2 Forgotten Battles from CD
2. Install IL2 Forgotten Battles ACE from CD
3. Check .NET 3.5 is enabled (Start > Windows Features)

4. Install DirectX 9.0 for Windows (https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=8109)
5. Download GameCopyWorld noCD for IL2 (Select the version you are wanting to play) (https://gamecopyworld.com/games/pc_il2_sturmovik.shtml)

    Extract the rts.dll into the Game Installation Directory *You may need to disable AV & Chrome doesn't work so use Edge*

 

6. Edit Game Settings
Edit il2fb.exe (or il2.exe which ever game you want) (Right-Click > Properties > Compatibility > Change high DPI settings > High DPI scaling override (Enable > Application)


Edit conf.ini *Located in game install folder (same as il2fb.exe), open it in Notepad and set the figures as below*
width=1920
height=1080
ColourBits=32
DepthBits=24
StencilBits=0
ChangeScreenRes=1
FullScreen=1
DrawIfNotFocused=0
EnableResize=0
EnableClose=1
SaveAspect=0
Use3Renders=0

If that doesn't work you may need 

Install Patches 2.01 then 2.04 (https://patches-scrolls.com/il2_sturmovik_forgotten_battles_ace_expansion.php)
Install Directx 8.1 for Windows (http://www.oldversion.com/windows/directx-8-1)
