Clean Checklists

I'm pretty sure someone already suggested this, but i couldn't find it, so just to keep it fresh. Other sims had it.

 

Now, with those engine limits modeled to every aircraft, checklists might be very useful.

 

They could be just 1 toggle key that make: Checklist appear/cycle trough tabs/disappear . It could be placed exactly like the minimap.

 

The main idea is just keep it simple and easy looking.
Those tabs could be just 3, to keep it simple, like:

Tab 1

 

Take off Speed
Landing Speed
Cruise Speeds
Climb Speeds
Flap Speed
Max Speed
Stall Speed

 

Tab2

 

Engine Limits and RPM limits
Engine Temps
Supercharger altitudes
WEP ability
Radiator, prop, mixture : manual/automatic ?

 

Tab 3

 

Pilots personal notes (or even the mission briefing)

Of course it could be better, but just an example to explain

 

They could be Txt editable. So users can change it, can download from someone that makes it better and can edit whatever he wants. (also its more community content=free marketing stuff)


The main idea it keep simple, without those many checklist content....this sim just have a hit E startup, don't need a rich content.

It would be very helpfull to everyone, specially for newcomers. They surely don't  want to search foruns and study manuals, and even print those content. The checklist is an easy way to reach those vital informations. Imagine a newcomer pissed off because he can't set the proper engine RPM and blows it off every time ?

 I do belive those 200.000 target copies will be stuffed of them. And the editable content will pleasure the grognards too....

Sorry to raise that old topic but I don't see the need to create another one.

 

I know that I can replace that pretty girl picture by a bit of checklist, thanks for that, but I would really love to be able to create my own.

More than a classic txt file, it would be relevent to have a markdown file.

 

Element of the checklist could apear like that

# Name of the spitfire_mk_IXe_user_checklist_1.md

## Ignition

- [ ] task 1
- [ ] task 2
- [ ] ....

## Taxi

- [ ] task 1
- [ ] task 2
- [ ] ....

## Whatever is my section

- Oil temperature : 80°C-110°C
- and so on...

A keymap would be avaible   to display it (especialy in VR)

A checklist could have multiple pages named after their file name ex :

If you have 3 pages.

 

I know that your backlog is like "full" but this feature can be awesome and could ease the way of new users are learning to flight (realist), community could propose like flight plan information, or mission informations (well markdown allows that too  )

Note : Consulting my checklist is but the only reason that I fly with trackIR instead of my VR headset... With such a feature I wouldn't need it anymore
