Control setup update?

The control setup is completely outdated. Any decent new joysticks/throttles etc. are not recognised because of the limitation of the program regarding number of buttons/axis. The program CTDs if your trackir is not pointing at the camera when loading a mission and subsequently bringing it into the line of the camera (not every time but enough inputinterface.dll errors that there is definitely something wrong).

My setup is a Winwing HOTAS Orion 2 Joystick/throttle  and VKB rudder. In order to get them to work and have access to all buttons I have to create 6 virtual joysticks via vjoy then map them all using Joystick Gremlin. After this I need to hide the actual joystick etc using HidHide or similar. Of course you have to make a backup of devices.txt so that you don't have to remap everything every time Windows or IL-2 rearrange the detected order of the virtual devices. I am aware of the Winwing 4x32 mode but that is no help when I add the VKB item as I then have a total of 9 devices and only 8 are recognised.

I did all this, it was working. I shouldn't have to do all this but I did and it was working. Now I don't know what has changed in the latest updates but my throttle is only recognised to 80% but only in some aircraft, others are fine, sometimes there is not a problem. It is a complete lottery whether the input response curve tool will recognise that an axis has been assigned. Sometimes yes and sometimes no. Randomly I can zoom in but not out whether using keyboard input or button on throttle. The whole system seems to be fragile. A control will work at the beginning of a flight and then not work 10 minutes later. There are also a number of items such as trim controls that are mapped, you can see the trim wheel in the aircraft turn when you make the input but the aircraft does nothing (yes, I am aware that this is a somewhat different problem as the devs just forgot to tie the actions of the aircraft to the inputs) but it adds to the overall dismay thast I feel.

You do not have these problems in MSFS, DCS, Xplane etc. I spend hours in and out of IL-2 trying to get it to work properly and consistently, I have no time to fly. USD700 spent on this sim (software) and I am really disillusioned. I just want to plug 3 peripherals in and have them work.

I am not asking for help (although some sort of stress relief would be nice!). I am not asking for sympathy or conversely dismissal. My question that comes from my place of disillusionment and dismay is simply:

When are 1C going to bring the control interface up to date and make it more robust?
