As of 27/4/23 Virtual Desktop now offers a feature for upscaling via the snapdragon processor. This is for potato to high settings and increases to ultra on the headset.

This is based on a new release from Qualcomm.

I've not tested it much but it appears to work quite well.

I presume this comes via in-headset update? Or from the desktop app? :)

I'm getting some really good results with this. Has anyone else tried it?

I haven't actually, under the policy "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." Lol. I'll give it a go today, though I don't think my IQ can be any better (my Pico is already at the limit of what the panels can physically render in terms of resolution/clarity/sharpness).

I don't see anything in VD's GUI, either in the headset bit or on the desktop bit, for this feature. Is it just automatically applied?

You need to use "high" or lower and it upscales to ultra. Otherwise the box is greyed out. If you have a pc that allows you to run at ultra or godlike then there is no benefit.

Oh, ok. I'm already at Godlike.

I've just tried to get OpenXR working, loads of error boxes and fk orf with that then. I'll wait until the Pimax is here before I bother again.
