Todt_Von_Oben Posted April 27, 2023 Posted April 27, 2023 Do any MP servers have the Snipe and Siemens Schuckert yet? I looked; no joy. Just sent Zoo an email asking if he can map it. I've flown each against the other in QM and it was pretty good but MP would be better. Anyone hear about anyone having plans for that in the near future?
RNAS10_Oliver Posted April 27, 2023 Posted April 27, 2023 (edited) Both are in Flugpark. But for obvious reasons not available on the 1917 missions. Also the numbers are limited. Edited April 27, 2023 by RNAS10_Oliver 1
Todt_Von_Oben Posted April 27, 2023 Author Posted April 27, 2023 Thanks. I just checked IC and found it on FP but it wasn't available when I tried to fly Steam. Will look again or go to IC. S!
Zooropa_Fly Posted April 27, 2023 Posted April 27, 2023 The Zoo hasn't read his email yet ! I've added it to the Verdun map and had my first go in it yesterday. Are you wanting a bot SS too ? S! 1
Zooropa_Fly Posted April 28, 2023 Posted April 28, 2023 Attached is the Verdun Map with SS replacing the DIIIa as a bot. Both SS and Snipe are available to fly. Fast food stuff for anyone who wants to practice in the the new planes. Todt - I'll email you instructions of how to add flyable planes to a map in the ME. It's easy enough. S! Verdun To Death.zip 1
Todt_Von_Oben Posted April 28, 2023 Author Posted April 28, 2023 (edited) Hey Zoo, thanks for this! It's late and I'll set it up tomorrow morning. And thanks, Oliver. I did find two SSIV at FP today and they worked just fine. That plane is a potential game changer. Adding flyable planes? Hmmmm. I will gratefully look into learning to do that. Thank you. Speaking of aerodynamic oddities in FC: I actually had a guy on Youtube ask what the ME-262 fights against on the Twilight Zone map. LOL! Humor is so difficult for some folks. Prosit! ??? Todt_Von_Oben Posted May 2, 2023 Author Posted May 2, 2023 Hey Zoo! I finally got around to downloading Verdun To Death and checked to see it's operational but haven't flown it yet. (Within the hour.) Thanks again for this. For a coordinated pilot, the SSD4 flies beautifully. With VTD, we can observe and evaluate how badly the bots mess it up. ? S!
Todt_Von_Oben Posted May 2, 2023 Author Posted May 2, 2023 (edited) Verdun To Death: my first time. I spawned into an aerodrome that looked like it had recently been captured from the Entente. Next to some parked Albatros were two burned-out hangars with Brisfits in ‘em. The runway had been bombed and I had to pick my way through large craters to take off. While I was starting up, a bot D7F at high altitude experienced an engine failure and bailed out. No idea why. Also, a Pfalzbot clipped the propeller of a SPADbot with his wing; one fell and the other glided on. (Interesting things like that were happening as I was approaching the dogfight zone and it was worth going back to check AI activities in the FR.) When I finally got into the fight, I was turning with a Scoutbot and accidentally bumped his right aileron with my leading edge. Didn’t hurt me but he broke up and went down. After that I shot the AI pilots of a Tripehound, a Snipe, and another Scout. Friendly bots were in the area and sometimes got a little too close for comfort; but no friendly fire this time (although a couple times I was wondering). For my final engagement, I shot Roy Brown’s Camel up so bad that his engine quit. I saw it stop from about thirty meters away and had just ceased firing when my engine flamed (but for only about one second) and a second later I was shot dead by a Camelbot some 390 meters aft. Great first flight, Zoo. Really like the map. Thank you! ? Edited May 2, 2023 by Todt_Von_Oben 1
