RNAS10_Mitchell Posted April 27, 2023 Posted April 27, 2023 When flying on the Flugpark, the map function "M key" is disabled, but the "O key" is enabled, and provides an Operations Map. When looking at this Operations Map, you can use the mouse to zoom in/out, and shift the view north, south, east and west. My question is: Has anyone been able to keybind this movement from the mouse to the joystick? Pretty sure it could be done with additional joystick software, but would prefer to keep all key mapping in the IL2 game itself.
J2_Trupobaw Posted May 1, 2023 Posted May 1, 2023 Using the stick you use to fly would be suicidal; you are still in control of the plane while looking on the map. Using some other stick... I do not think so. 1
RNAS10_Mitchell Posted May 1, 2023 Author Posted May 1, 2023 (edited) Was not suggesting to use the stick you fly the plane with. Was thinking about a hat switch on either stick or throttle for map movements. (Or whatever you choose to keybind to) Would not effect flight in any way. For example, you can use a hat switch to turn your head left or right without effecting the planes flight . Could possibly even use the same buttons/hat you use to move your head. Would be great if your head movements (track ir or hat switch) would also translate to the map view. Lean in for a closeup, turn head right to view right side of map, etc... =LD=Brazo Posted May 1, 2023 Posted May 1, 2023 I have it mapped to a button on my throttle unit. Set it up from within il-2.

Zooming in and out, scanning up, down, left right? I have the "O" key mapped, but as stated up top, the mouse is then required to move around in the map. I want to use a hat switch instead of the mouse so I don't have to take hands off the stick in order to use the mouse. Would be ideal if this could be done with head tracking, but would be happy to be able to use a hat switch to look around on the map. Edited May 1, 2023 by RNAS10_Mitchell
