percydanvers Posted April 26, 2023 Posted April 26, 2023 The new collector plane had me wondering. I know the G-1,G-3, and G-5 did, and a lot of the other high altitude 109s did, but I don't have any info about the G-6/AS in this regard. I kind of think it didn't, but that has me wondering also. Why not put the high altitude engines in something like the G-5 that was already built for that purpose instead retooling a low altitude fighter for high altitude work? Kind of irrelevant questions I know, but I can't help but wonder.
1CGS LukeFF Posted April 26, 2023 1CGS Posted April 26, 2023 No, only the odd-numbered G-series planes had pressurized cockpits. And yes, they did put the DB605AS engine in the G-5. ? 1
