GiftZahnsSteigern Posted September 20, 2022 Posted September 20, 2022 (edited) Where' the rest of your AC, toots! Here's a corker. As many do, I like to hit Auto Level button on those long RTBs, and CTRL F2 around the airspace to see how the belligerents I shot up are getting along. This 51 had lost some rudder authority, so it looked like fun seeing how he managed landing the thing. Well, it was flaps down, gear down, line up on the runway centerline and while slowing his IAS he would get REAL unstable and hit the TOGA check list, tout de suite! The complication to all this levity was Axis AAA was right smack dab off the outer marker on his egress. This was repeated several times, until Fritz got lucky and plastered him. I, uh, got credit for the K. Edited September 23, 2022 by GiftZahnsSteigern 6 1 1
Stonehouse Posted September 22, 2022 Posted September 22, 2022 Flak - the pilot's curse. 2 Mossies, 1 ammo dump, flak in the trees, tracer from 1 o'clock on the run in, Nav killed and pilot badly wounded. Only 1 Mossie landed at Manston 20 minutes later................another letter to write. 3 1 1

Looks like you're fixing to extend your landings oeuvre from the ever popular 'now famous greaser'. Amazing these V 1 installations, and there seems some variety in their layout! The other 1000 lber is for that mess of Tudor's over yonder. Edited September 23, 2022 by GiftZahnsSteigern 3
Stonehouse Posted September 23, 2022 Posted September 23, 2022 Few more Normandy shots. The interaction between sunlight and clouds and water is pretty amazing and it just lends itself to taking screenshots. These are from different missions. First few from sweeps over France and then some from the inbound leg through sun showers over the channel for a low-level strike on the port at Dieppe. 8 2 1

Don't worry for the color, this serie is excellent ! ......but six S-boats in daylight were probably able to deliver a frightening amount of steel from 20 to 37 or 40mm ? (I know : I asked for this many times in many places, but too often it is just the "missing nail" to perfect artwork )
