I know absolutely nothing about subs. Are both the subs in Great Battles German? One has a flag, the other has no ID. Thanks.

Nope, a russian and a german i think. I once modded a flag om torpedo boats from russian to Free french for a mission,

but you needed MODs on and JSGME for installing that. Dont think the russian ones have flags, the germans do, water proof IMO.

A Russian and a German sub, yes. Although the German one is a type IIB, which is correct for the Black Sea but less so for the Western Front where most subs were types VII or IX. That said, a number of type IIs did operate in the West, especially in the early years of WW2.

I think the most useful addition would be small coastal craft - particularly a British Motor Gunboat would have been quite useful for Normandy (i.e. protecting landing craft, supporting airsea rescue, patrolling harbours, fighting with German torpedo boats). I suppose everything has been built now :) Unless they decide to do a small expansion for the Channel Map 1942-1943 with a couple new aircraft and improvements to the map (e.g. hedges or making British targets more historically accurate)... probably won't happen, but it is neat to imagine.

Agree. I had to do alot of compromisse when making my hurricane campaign with Normandy. Raf opperation logs shows alot of attacks on german flakships. Had to use the russian destroyer to simulate those ?
