The vagaries of hardware fettling.

I was playing a PWCG mission on the Kuban map last night and it was choppy. FPS was fine but lots of stuttering until the graphics froze (game continued, plane crashed). I had to reboot the PC and I figured the cause was a high-resource map vs the Pico wifi connection.

So, back to scouring the internet for a cable-connect solution and decided to give the ethernet connection another try, this time without including the power connection. It worked! Virtual Desktop connected fine with wifi off. Fired up an 8 vs 8 on the Kuban map, smooth as silk. Then connected the mains power to the ethernet adapter, game continued running.

I tried all this a couple of days ago and Virtual Desktop was having none of it. Now it does. Like I say, go figure. Lol.

hi,

i use the ethernet connection over an usb-c to ethernet adapter with a lan cable from nearby day one with my pico 4 and virtual desktop with no problems .

Well depends on the USB-C to ethernet adapter model ...

The USB-C to ethernet adapter with power delivery that is mostly recommended here on forums does not work for me ...
I can recommend this one:

Delock USB Type-C™ Adapter zu Gigabit LAN mit Power Delivery 100 Watt (61026)

The adapter is working for months now...i use the ethernet connection all day with the adapter.

greetings
