DFLion_’JG26_5 Staffel_Defends_Normandy’

 

Staffelkapitan Walter Matoni had started establishing his Staffel’s presence over Normandy.

He always flew a Long –Nose Focke-Wulf, which were given to selected pilots for testing in combat.

 

Johnnie Johnson’s Squadrons had encountered him on several occasions as the Luftwaffe desperately tried to stem the Allied air onslaught over Normandy.
