Great find! I like the line "it really isn't phenomenal at all". It seems like such a subjective statement (possibly with a hint of propaganda?).

Yeah, well this sort of instructional videos do need to provide the pilots with a sense of confidence while still being honest about the enemy aircrafts capabilities. The USAAF equivalent of these movies aren't much different.

 

Also keep in mind that VVS pilots in general didn't regard the 190 as anything special compared to the 109.

 

I actually think the movie does a decent job of describing the 190. The performance numbers are inaccurate, but that's to be expected when they come from testing a captured plane without access to a flight manual.

 

Otherwise the describtion fits well enough: A fairly fast fighter with very heavy armament, middling climb rate, mediocre sustained turn and poor high altitude performance. They also emphasized the highly advanced controls and limited but effective armour.
