Guest deleted@219798 Posted April 12, 2023 Posted April 12, 2023 (edited) Often a plane's fuselage bounces high into the air when it hits the ground as if it was made of rubber. It wouldn't happen like that really. Depending on the speed the plane hit the ground the fuselage might crumple or fall apart. Is this going to be fixed at any time? 1CGS Regingrave- Posted April 12, 2023 1CGS Posted April 12, 2023 I'll ask the engineering department, theoretically — yes, there are some tweaks that could be made to negate this, but generally it's technically impossible to realistically process such collisions without turning the game into BeamNG Drive with one or two planes and no multiplayer. To avoid such bounces with WW2 planes they are usually vaporize on impact, although in WW1 planes there is nothing to explode, so we have to make a compromise between historical accuracy and game physics limitations. Flying Circus is an air combat simulator, not a plane crashing simulator, and although crashes are a significant part of gameplay, it's not the most important one to focus on that much. 1 2

Guest deleted@219798 Posted April 12, 2023 Posted April 12, 2023 Maybe Flying Circus isn't a plane crash simulator, but it isn't a cartoon either and that's what it looks like when you see aircraft fuselages bouncing 2 0r 3 times the height of a tree. Crashes were far more realistic in Rise of Flight. Maybe this sort of thing is okay to excite the people who don't know better to buy games.

Thanks, what I miss in the FC after some updates is the fires from fuel tanks, I observed only engine fires. There is also no explosions of ammunition (i don't remember it in FC like in WW2) but fuel tanks explosions when there is small amount of gas left used to be there - rarely , but now they gone. RNAS10_Mitchell Posted April 12, 2023 Posted April 12, 2023 Tweaks would be appreciated. Crashing aircraft bouncing 10 feet in the air is comical. 1
Dusty926 Posted April 12, 2023 Posted April 12, 2023 Tweaks would be nice; I just booted up Rise of Flight again the other day and there the WW1 aircraft have a sort of glue style relationship with the ground. It's kind of cheesy itself but it definitely beats the, "Explode and go 50 feet in any direction" impacts we have in FC right now.
