Ragox Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 (edited) Let's say this game sells quite well, can we expect at least the same amount of addional content being added to the game as with their previous game Rise of Flight? And I'm not just talking about new planes, also new scenarios and time periods... I'm myself not a huge fan of the eastern front, but this game engine is so awesome already I'd be incredibly happy to be able to play with it in North Africa flying a MC.200 or Hurricane at some point Edited July 29, 2014 by Ragox
=38=Tatarenko Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 The Devs have said they won't comment on anything after release date at the moment as it all depends on sales.
taffy2jeffmorgan Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 " Battle of Stalingrad " will i'm sure be a success, and i'm also sure that the combat flight fraternity will agree that it is the bench mark for the future. And with that success, i'm sure that there will come an expansion that will take us to most of the other theaters of the Second World War. With only 60% completed its already showing itself to be a class act, The future looks bright !!! Cheers. JM.
=38=Tatarenko Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 I agree, and it seems to be going down well in Russia which is a big part of their market. I do wonder whether young gamers identify with this sort of product any more. I really hope they do but looking at the kids I know I really doubt it.
LuftManu Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 (edited) I have 18 years almost 19 (Yay!), simulators have been my favourite hobby since I was a kid, I've flown most of them on the market, and I mean that this is the perfect mix between "modernity", realism and fun, the overall appearance of simulator is "fresh" menus, options, not like other ones. I have friends of my age who play Battlefield, call of duty .. etc, I show them DCS, Clod, 46 .. and they didn`t like them. but recently I show them Bos, they really liked this one, they said to me that was pretty fun and realistic to them, and also they were considering it`s purchase if I teach them ,I think it`s a really nice oportunity to show this nice hobby to new people, and for example, the ones who are going to test it, they are not going to get bored with a Checklist of 10 minutes (which I like too, but the new guess not much) or very complicated things. So, I'm seeing that if this works well, the community will receive not only a renewed title, but also a community renewed I Wish a day when such Titles are recognized for all the work that leads develop, and all the time it takes, and also with a similar community to the titles of today, with all kinds of people and ages Edited July 29, 2014 by Manu_vc 2
Sim Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 (edited) If I had to guess, I think after release: - The devs will work on a new expansion/theater (probably eastern front) with a new map and around 6 new planes. - We will also get 2 new planes released as DLC using the store (while they are still working on the expansion). - The expansion will include other engine features and new game mechanics (infantry etc). - During this time we may also get Stalingrad summer map version with a free patch. What do you think? Sounds reasonable? Edited July 29, 2014 by Sim 1

Blooddawn1942 Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 I doubt that a Autumn or Summer map of Stalingrad would be free.
LuftManu Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 I doubt that a Autumn or Summer map of Stalingrad would be free. It is not 100% sure, but I think yes, 1C and 777 Were working on a MMO il2 title before Bos, that was like Battle of Moscow, you can search info in the Free subject, and there were Autumm textures, so, the Stuff is there, they need only to port it to this map, also, by this success, they can give us something free for they Pre-orders
Sim Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 (edited) I believe RoF got the winter/autumn western map versions with a free patch, hence the free update for BoS should be doable as well (if the devs don't get greedy that is) I think maps as a separate purchase is a horrible idea in general as it fragments multiplayer community (as with Channel Map in RoF). I hope maps aren't made so that we have to buy them individually. However, RoF financed them through the sale of individual aircraft, something I doubt would happen now (devs said they shan't do it that way) What might be possible is that we see say "Stalingrad summer" with 4 aircraft maybe and the summer map. In a perfect world, the summer map would be open to everyone, but they wouldn't be able to use the aircraft, thus limitting their participation on that map (you couldn't fly a 190 or La in August 1942)
Blooddawn1942 Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 I would shure appreciate a Stalingrad summer map as an free update. But I really doubt that. Releasing it with a couple of new planes as an add on sounds more reasonable to me. Maybe a 4 plane add on including the I-16, Mig 3, an Emil and who knows what else...maybe a Ju 87 b. Just my personal thoughts.
LuftManu Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 (edited) The best things the Dev can make is to Pack Aircrafts and theaters in one pack, ie: Battle of moscow, GER: Bf 109 E4/F2/ Bf 110 C6/ Ju 88/ RUS: I16, MIG3, I153, PO2 And map or maps, Packing things are a lot of easier for us, the users, to play online. Ragox Posted July 29, 2014 Author Posted July 29, 2014 Thanks for the very informative replies It's too bad that they aren't willing to talk about their plans yet. Well, I guess let's all hope this game sells extremely well then, so that we can see a lot of content being added. It's an interesting plane, but way too slow and can't compete with anything German.
LuftManu Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 (edited) What, PO-2? It's an interesting plane, but way too slow and can't compete with anything German. I dont mind, I really would love to fly NIght attack missions in this thing!, also the devs should look at the planes that made something important or were common in the theater. Edited July 29, 2014 by Manu_vc
Finkeren Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 As much as I'd love to see a Po-2 I don't think it's gonna happen. For a Battle of Moscow scenario it's much more likely we'd see a Tupolev SB or an Ilyushin DB.

71st_AH_Hooves Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 Hey Manu, im in line with all your comments. And sim, i think your prognostication on the future is dead on! 1
Praetor Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 Would love a Defense of the Reich scenario. 1943-1945 allied bombing campaign. Pacific theater would be cool too.
migmadmarine Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 I still would like to see Korea, but I doubt that would happen any time soon since it would be such a big jump.
DeafBee Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 Would love a Defense of the Reich scenario. 1943-1945 allied bombing campaign. Pacific theater would be cool too. Those would be my choice too. And Africa.
IIN8II Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 I cant imagine a summer/autumn Stalingrad map being a paid dlc (unless it came with planes).
