Single mission "Royal Rodeo" crash ( literally )

It begins with one being the #2 Spitfire MkV in line for takeoff, but by the time the black loading screen gives way to the cockpit view you're already rolling. Engine is well above idle and maximum braking is not enough to prevent your right wingtip from bashing into the leading plane's rudder. From the mission opening to the crunch of contact is about 5 seconds, and despite re-closing the throttle, and having full braking action applied, a crash always occurs. Not enough time to try to attempt to steer around to the left either.

I changed the A/C type to the D.520 and the mission begins with the engine idling and the A/C not moving, and was able to take off with the group and proceed with the mission.

Hi TRRA15,

In FMB set the Formation to "Finger Four" and make sure the wind direction is around 160degrees.

Position the take off and landing icons on the runway corresponding to the wind direction and your take off position will be staggered, thereby preventing the crash.

The throttle still remains too wide open but at least you have space to brake (sort of) and get ready for take off.

BTW you still have to hit "auto" for a second to prompt your flight leader to take off.

Happy landings!

Thanks very much for your reply and advice. I didn't realize we could edit the game's own single missions via QMB. I learn something new every day.

Thanks again.?
