Instant CTD on 4.15m starting DF server

Been playing IL2 since Dec. 2001.

 

So, We have our 4.14.1m installation successfully patched to 4.15m.

 

But... starting a MP DF server, we have an instant crash when trying to go to the arming screen after selecting a base in DF.

 

Any ideas?

I'm not having any sound issues but am still getting the EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xc0000005) error.
My sound error log is clear.

My problem is when I try to host a DF multplayer mission, it's an instant crash to the desktop. INSTANT.
Rolling back to 4.14.1... no problem.

For any of the new sound options to work, I simply had to enable Spatial Sound (I have a Realtek audio chip).

There are a couple of the sound DLLs that make 4.15 fail to load, but it's easy enough to route through the other options.

Meh, I solved it by paying $6 for gog.com il2 1946 4.13.4 and then patched to 4.14.1 and then 4.15. No big deal.
