Gil--- Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 (edited) I think you need more knowledge to judge these things. C3 mean that Fw 190 used C3 fuel - 100 octan. Maby russian in their capured Fw 190 used lower octan like in some RAF planes - thats why performacne of tested planes was worse then should be. Even Fw 190 A-5 which got the same engine like A-3/ A-4 but it was more heavy plane got 15 m/s. Obviously A-3 and A-4 got better climb rate casue both got less take off weght - so 16 - 16.5 m/s at 1.32 Ata 2400 RPMs is accurate for these version depend of equimpent ( outterwing cannons). At 1.42 Ata and 2700 RPMs climb would be much better even of only for 3 minutes allowed. Where you hell got 29 sec??? Russian data claim for Fw 190 A-4 at 1000m - 22-23 second turn time ( left - right). Fw 190 A-3 got similar climb time to 5 km like LA5 and Yak-1 from these time and shouldn;t be worse here. Lagg3 should be much worse then all these planes ( 800 m/min - 13.5 m/s). The 1st point is wether C3 or still B4 was used in late 42 eastern front. The second is that 190A5 got its 15 m/s as maximum climb rate at 2400 rpm, not as an average at 1000 - 2000 meters. And here is another german data for 190A3 with BMW-801D http://www.wwiiaircraftperformance.org/fw190/fw190-a3-sheet-26-11-42.jpg . It was already posted here but seem noone can make simple calculation with 2000 meters and 2.3 minutes, or just prefer to ignore it. I'll try to google that report with 29 seconds to check it more careful, i don't count it as somewhere correct result, i just say that what we have in game is not just incorrect soviet data. But anyway 190A3 never could have similar climb as La5 (even with boost off) and yak-1 with M-105pf engine, not even as Lagg-3 with the same engine (remember, yak-1 and lagg-3 in game are not first modifications of that planes, they are 1942 year mods with about 100 - 150 hp more powerfull engines). La-5 is about 3350 kg and 1450 hp (boost off) at sea level Yak-1 is 1200 hp and 2900 kg Lagg-3 is 1200 and 3200 kg FW-190A3 is about 3850 kg and 1420hp at 2400 rpm (http://www.wwiiaircraftperformance.org/fw190/eb104-fig4.jpg) Even Lagg-3, the worst of soviets has better power to weight relation below 2000 meters, and all of them have lower wingload that is advantage for slow sustained climb too. Fw-190 just got nothing to have better climb than any of them. So we have 190's worst power to weight relation and german report with 14.5 m/s average climb rate from SL to 2000 m, need anything else? If you turn 3 minutes rate on the situation will surely change, did you try to measure 190's climb at 2700 rpm and full throttle in game? Edited August 2, 2014 by Sch.G.1_Gil---
