Taurus Posted April 4, 2023 Posted April 4, 2023 (edited) Would 1CGS please fix a defect on the P47D-22 Model. Over at the IL-2 Great Skinners Community on Discord, there has been much discussion on the infamous "White Propeller Hub" that has been vexing many skinners trying to create great skins for the P47D-22. No matter what is done, a "White Propeller Hub" would show up on the aircraft whenever the blades were in fast motion. But it was not like that at the beginning? (All external texture .dds files have been painted RGB Green (0,255,0) to help show the issue.) The DEFECT... So on my investigations; From my backups I found that some time in 2022 the model was updated. It went from one blur texture to two blur textures. p47d22_blr.dds -> p47d22_blr#add1.dds, p47d22_blr#add2.dds By using the green painted textures on the P47D-28, which does not have the problem, I was able to establish that the p47d22_blr#add2.dds texture is the culprit. The default p47d28_blr#add2.dds used shows the propeller hub affected. When using the painted texture the hub is coloured green showing that this texture affects the hub. I have tested altering the alpha channel on this texture but it did not fix the problem. The problem is that the UV mapping on the model for the spinning propeller hub is broken. The model does not reference any valid texture. I hope that 1CGS can fix this defect on an otherwise fantatic aircraft model. Thanks. Edited February 22, 2024 by Taurus Fixed 22/02/2024 3
