=IRFC=Gascan Posted April 4, 2023 Posted April 4, 2023 Last September there was a large Gotha raid on Canterbury across the English Channel. All Gothas have human pilots, but the night fighters are AI. One perspective was recorded with gamma set to 1.0, the other with 1.5, which makes the recording more visible and less affected by compression artifacts. The overall mission was about an hour and a half, with four night fighters shot down, one straggler Gotha lost to night fighters, one Gotha lost to flak, and several lost on landing. Tough mission, but very atmospheric! I really enjoyed seeing the search lights in action, although they seemed especially interested in the Gothas' tails, rather than the center of the fuselage and wings. The tracers at night and flak bursts were spectacular, as were the bombs exploding down below. I have nothing against Canterbury, but apparently some people were forced to read Chaucer a few too many times in primary school... 2 1
ST_Catchov Posted April 4, 2023 Posted April 4, 2023 I thought you were going to the paradise that is Dungeness and hit the accoustic mirrors and knock out the Denge RAF base but I guess Canterbury is ok. Maybe next time. Great video Gascan and good to see a recreation of the Gotha raids on south east England. Well, it's good to see the big bombers full stop. Looked like a lotta fun! Maybe you can get some human night fighters next time. 1
