The Insane Adventures of Alife "Mad Man" Wright. Part 1: A bloody close shave.

Possibly my most dramatic video so far.

What should have been a quick one and done strafe to take out a balloon on my way home turned out to be a 4 attack thing, as my guns kept jamming and the Germans used some sort of armored balloon. My plane got continuously hit from the ground fire defending the balloon, with even more bullets whizzing past my head.

As I did the final attack, a Dr 1 had snuck up on me and joined in the fun(I never knew this until I saw the replay and thought I was still just getting shot at from the ground.)

The Dr 1 gets in a hit on Alife. and Alfie dives away, on the way home, barely able to see, he ends up in a formation with more Dr 1s. But luckily they are slow planes even vs the Camel.

 

And Alife, now known as Alife “Mad Man” Wright after the observers on his side of the line saw his crazy antics, lands more or less safely. His first mission gave him two kills, a German 2-seater and a balloon. He got fired on by hundreds if not thousands of bullets from the German observer in the 2-seater, the ground guns and the Dr 1. With many bullets hitting the plane and even at least one hitting Alfie himself. Compare this to Emile who died from a single random bullet from ground fire.

I like the theatrical title and your amusing commentary.? That f***** balloon!  Wait, I'm hit. I'm a goner! ? It's all about having fun amongst some tense moments innit. Alfie done good but. He's a mad man and lucky. He ain't no Emile.

Neither am I. As some may have gathered. But I do make serious points now and again because I'm a WW1 nerd. But back in the day I started a WW1 video (potential) series about "Percy Bounder" WW1 cad and RFC hero that never took off. Only two vids. And then life and sh** took over as it does ....

 

And because of that I was attracted to your sense of humour in previous vids of yours which I didn't comment on until now. Keep 'em coming .... enjoyable stuff.
