I know there are some placeholders...but this one doesn't make sense, I think the mission generation might need a few tweaks!

Yeah - there seem to be a few such odd placeholder situations, especially with the 1917 time period careers.  I'm going to be trying to take a look at this while I'm working on tweaking the squadron-default skin situation, but it may be a while.  Best bet in the meantime is probably just to start careers in 1918, as I think someone else (LukeFF?) has suggested in another post.

Yep agree until the plane set is expanded. Although it's still fun and entertaining to be accosted by kites that didn't exist. What's more important to me are the AI issues which I was hoping the devs would improve before the career release. I do hope they pay particular attention to this in the coming months to make the career a more enjoyable experience. In the DD a while back they were talking about increasing their staff to 52 or something. If this transpires perhaps they can get a team together to focus on AI and mission scripting improvements. Hope dies last.

It really is a matter of the 1917 plane set being a bit thin right now, especially for the Germans. The Albatros D.Va works for most of the 1917 time period being simulated right now in career mode, while the Pfalz D.IIIa shouldn't show up until November 1917. Other than that, all of their fighters right now are 1918 types.
