Hey everyone!

Back by popular demand, we are launching "Operation MG3: Part Deux" once again. There are some small tweaks to the original, but it's essentially the same operation for those (like me) who are really aching to wreak revenge on the enemy!

I've borrowed (OK, stolen) my screenshot from Karaya's fantastic video that he posted here from the original Operation MG3 event. I won't say who was flying the hapless Beaufighter that he dispatched into the Mediterranean, but if you watch his video you'll faintly hear Karaya commenting, "I thought Snapper was flying a Wellington....").

Event: Operation MG3: Part Deux
Location: ATAG Axis vs Allied Public Server
Date: Saturday, April 8, 2023
Time: 1900 GMT (that's 3 pm for us Eastern Daylight Saving guys  )

Many thanks once again to Pernix and his squad for creating this event and allowing us to run again!
Hope to see everyone there!!

So your solution to the growing discontent and frustration with the lack of communication and progress is...an MP event. Even better, the one the week after uses the mission with a backstory of rape. Well done.

Is this the update Cybermat mentioned you would be posting?

It appears they are taking this on board,  however they have forgotten to update this forum.

The use of the title for the mission "Joy Division" was a honest mistake by the mission designer... the mission was originally designed by someone else... and Riley then re-used the name to give credit without realizing the implications.

To suggest the error was intentional is simply nonsense.  Riley is a stalwart RAF/RCAF pilot who is as patriotic to his Canadian homeland as any WWII Commonwealth pilot might be.

His intention was simply to provide the community with an event they might enjoy.

Thanks for taking the time to reply to this one of my many posts...

As for clutching your pearls in defence of Snapper, it's unnecessary...

To gauge interest in the massive multiplayer events, what sort of turnout was there? Just hoping the passion is still there for the game when these planned events take place and it brings the dormant players back to fore.

What if... everyone who is reading this thread just participate to next event ?
I am sure there would be a lot of players, don't you think ?

You likley wont see a significant difference in numbers until something different is there. Ultinmately online WW2 MP peticipants are in limited supply ans split between BoX and DCS both of which have (certainly Box) have regular servers catering for differing wants. I doubt there's a hoard of online player currently offline awaiting thje visual update. If anything, it will be down to decent martketing and a push on events such as this, possibly after the VU release, to try and drive numbers up. What the chart might also show however, is the "offline" base take up.

What it does show is that an event can put decent numbers into a server even if that really the only server. A regular event may pull more over in over time and a server like SOW would increase this further no doubt. To what degree though I really dont know. If the BL Maxi was relaunched having undergone years of quiet bug fixing would I trade my 2 year old Clubman in for it? Unlikely.

BoX has it issues but retains the title for "jump in and play" WW2 simming. DCS has undergone a step change in the MT roll out but is hardly a rich WW2 envoronment and MSFS offers a substantial and rich alternative to shooting down the same names over the same landscape in the same mission for the less competative. I think the world has perhaps moved on a little too much now for Clod to become a popular and commercial success. Thats not to say it will not be a more  competant product one day with a die hard hardcore fan base though. Sadly the latter is not going to put bread on the table.

It would add perhaps 10-20 at most.

The non-event days are telling.

When I joined the event maybe half an hour in, there were approx 20-25 on the server I think. Sadly I once again ran into the "no controls mapped" issue despite having a confUser.ini that looked correct. I wasn't able to map anything quickly in game or using the control wizard so I departed.

How many people do you think read this thread (And the other adverts across platforms?) And why do you think they didn't participate?

Personally, not allowed to use VR, that is if the events even allow VR players into the server. I don't know if they can or can't.

I do have the game after all.
