No_85_Gramps Posted March 31, 2023 Posted March 31, 2023 Hello all, I have only dabbled in FC but with the upcoming (well, sometime in the future) release of the SSW D.III I will be jumping into the fray. I was curious to know if there is currently a rotary plane that the engine on is similar to the SSD as far as operating it goes. I would like to at least get my feet wet with rotary engine controls. TIA Gramps
Avimimus Posted March 31, 2023 Posted March 31, 2023 The D.III hasn't been modelled at this level of detail before. From the historical accounts it will have a bit of a nasty snap to its stalls... so maybe a Camel would be good to warm up on? Just know that it should bleed speed less quickly in a turn (so it should turn for longer but not quite as sharply). 1
No_85_Gramps Posted March 31, 2023 Author Posted March 31, 2023 Thank you! I will take a look at the Camel. 1
=IRFC=Gascan Posted April 1, 2023 Posted April 1, 2023 The engine controls should be similar for all the rotaries: throttle, mixture, and blip switch. 1
