Hello,

I have recently bought this sim on Steam and I am using this joystick.

I am , however, having trouble assining  the POV HAT to be able to look around. The game simply ignores that the joystick has  2 of them. The right one  is not recognized  at all, no matter how I am moving it. The left one is recognized as "  some  button"  at 0 180 90 270  degrees  respectively, however, in game this does not  work and I have to use my keyboard to be able  to look around.

Moreover, I am unable to find the key binding for  aiming through  the Aldis gunsight.

Any  experience  on  your part  and any help from  you  would be much appreciated.

I can't help much with that particular joystick, but I can help a bit with the Aldis. To use any gunsight, you need to position your head in line with the gun sight. In VR, I simply move my head to where it needs to be. TrackIR users can also just move their head to the appropriate position. However, many TIR users like to use a specific "snap view" to place their head right up next to the gunsight and zoom in, all with the click of a button. Use the keys to move the pilots head left/right, up/down, forward/back until its just where you want it, then save it as a particular snap view. You can then jump directly to that snap view whenever you press the appropriate snap view, allowing you to perfectly line up a shot with ease. This doesn't work in VR, but for all other methods it works fine.

In VR you can save default head position also. Using trackir i found that snap view are not good for gunnery because you need to hold the button, better is to have just 3 levels of zoom (fov - max , middle, normal) and when you alternate between they don't need to be held a button, so you just press gun trigger. With deadzone at center in trackir profile to hold steady aim at reticle, beyond without deadzone. Now you can look around freely and zoom in out 360.  Remember to set 100% speed and 0% inertia at appropriate cam settings.

I don't like slider zoom as you can see or need to hold a button to stay zoomed.

Thank you both, still tweaking that joystick. In FS2020  it was easy, as there was a preprogrammed profile for  it in the game.

I am having trouble with that POV hat in external cam mode. Have to use  keyboard instead.

Make sure that it's the "Pilot head control" that you are mapping to the POV hat, not the "Camera controls"

Thanks-)  Yes, I have discovered that as well.  Now, the Autopilot is not  working properly, but I can live with that..
