CaptainKoloth Posted March 20, 2023 Posted March 20, 2023 Hello everyone, Sorry if this is the wrong forum for this, but I've been having a strange issue. I bought a number of campaigns and aircraft directly from the IL-2 store yesterday. My Steam and IL-2 accounts are linked. Strangely, even though I bought these directly from IL-2 and not from Steam, I can access them in Steam but NOT in the IL-2 standalone launcher. I uninstalled and reinstalled the standalone app, but it didn't seem to help. Any ideas for what I can try? 1
Skycat1969 Posted March 20, 2023 Posted March 20, 2023 If the problem is only with scripted campaigns not available, check that you own the maps and aircraft required for the campaign. For example, because Stalingrad is the base for Steam you own that on Steam and you can't buy it a second time for your standalone launcher version. If the missing content in standalone includes your new Collector Planes, that does suggest there is a larger problem for which I have no suggestions.
-332FG-Gordon200 Posted March 20, 2023 Posted March 20, 2023 @CaptainKolothDid you go online and connect with the IL2 server after buying content from IL2 store? You must do that in order for the purchases to be unlocked and made available to you.

There's no way to access the Steam-bought content in the standalone launcher?

Steam keys can't be validated unless you launch through Steam. This is because keys bought through Steam aren't attached to your website account, which is why until you link accounts your username in-game is Player-####. By linking your website account on the Steam version, it's able to validate Steam and website keys; essentially meaning it's able to layer the process. Of course, it wasn't always this way. Back in the day (I've been here too long,) you would get a CD key from Steam and would have to register it on the website for it to work. I think around the release of Kuban, a Steam policy changed that drove the validation disparity between versions.
Skycat1969 Posted March 25, 2023 Posted March 25, 2023 I apologize that I wasn't clear. Anything in the Great Battles line that is bought on the website, can be used in the Steam version also. Anything bought on Steam cannot be used in the web launcher version. If your accounts are connected, you cannot buy a product from the web store if you already own it on Steam. (I wish I could buy Stalingrad again only to complete my web launcher install.)
CoopyScoopDogg Posted July 17, 2024 Posted July 17, 2024 (edited) same can only play through Steam because all the games i bought and dlc show up, if i log into il2 web frontend they dont show more than 2. I hate this because if i had known i wouldnt have bought them in steam as i used to be able to play offline without logging in P.S I have linked my accounts but still only shows 2 in web il2 frontend and 6 show up in Steam plus the 2 to l;ink: 1. Own Battle of Stalingrad on Steam. 2. Create an account at il2sturmovik.com -- register with the same email address you use for Steam. 3. Enter your Steam account information into your il2sturmovik.com profile. 4. Purchase content at il2sturmovik.com. 5. Open the game on Steam and, if you are connected to the internet, the new content should be active in your game. Edited July 17, 2024 by ScoopDogg
