DCS and ww2 planes

Hi; any tips on what DCS ww2 planes are worthwhile? i got the ww2 assets pack and channel + normandy with the sale going on now.

But just wonder what planes are a must have to start with. Thinking about the spitfire, but what else (and for opponent side) is worth it.

This will likely get me flames from the warbird ethusiasts (helo player - hover or dont bover).  Take it all with a pinch of salt.

 

The spitfire looks a bit dated now and has always felt too "floaty" to me.

The Dora is as old as your great gran and looks it

The Anton is -jury is out - seems its a bit of a love hate thing for many.

 

The Mustang got a refresh a couple of years ago and I like it (but i only dip in and out) - good all rounder pehpas with some good campaigns

The P47 seems popular and is current in terms of graphical fidelity - good all rounder

The mossie is still EA and in some areas apparently shows it (dont have, never trialed it) but it has many fans. The sceen shots never thilled me detail wise.

The 109 might be older but is still nice to doss about in.

 

So perhaps the mustang and 109 might be a nice cheap introduction in the sales with the P47 being the upper crust.

Spitfire a must... there's more campaigns for it. The German side, the 109 or the Anton, plus there is a campaign for each of them.

If you like the yank stuff, it's the P-47 as there is a great campaign for it.

I've got all the WWII stuff plus the campaigns and maps, well worth it in my opinion.
