misterk2003 Posted March 14, 2023 Posted March 14, 2023 I've recently started experiencing an issue where I cannot move the head forward/aft and left/right in the cockpit by moving the headset forward/left right. VR works well for pivoting the head around/up. So far I've tried this on an Odyssey + and HP reverb G2. The head tracking works well in other games so I don't think this is a hardware issue. So far I've tried reinstalling the game with no lock. Adjusting the head position and the default position (f10) with key binding work find outside of VR so I'm running out of ideas to troubleshoot. Wondering if anyone else is experiencing this ?
Guest Posted March 15, 2023 Posted March 15, 2023 As I recall when I had this with my G2 I had to reset the seating/position calibration in the headset's software.
firdimigdi Posted March 15, 2023 Posted March 15, 2023 If this is only happening in IL-2 then there's a specific camera mode, I forget which, that induces this in VR. Look in the camera settings and try the various cockpit camera modes it has in the dropdown there. Note that if you do this in VR your view will move every time you use that menu (this was reported a while back but never addressed) so you'll likely need to restart the game and reset your cockpit position.
spreckair Posted March 15, 2023 Posted March 15, 2023 I have this problem when there is very bright direct sunshine in my room, usually during the mid-day to early afternoon. It never happens at any other time. I usually frantically draw curtains and do whatever to change the lighting.

Yep that was it. Recalibrating the seating position in Windows Mixed Reality fixed it. Thanks!
