No Multiplayer Servers displaying - empty list screen

I've played multi on here for a long time now.

Randomly, after making no significant changes whatsoever to my system, my multi list is empty.  No servers display.

I have:

Verified integrity of game files.
Reinstalled the game from scratch, deleting all content after uninstall, before reinstalling
Reset network adapters to defaults
Reinstalled Steam
Rolled back nVidia driver
Rolled back Windows Update from the 3rd this month
Disengaged the Firewall completely - it isn't even running
Still nothing.

DCS servers run just fine.

What's up?  Anyone got any ideas?

(update on this - I've deleted the moscowb folder, but it has never re-loaded itself.  Am I somehow not connecting to the IL2 server?  I can download the game alright.  So confused.)

Running:
Win 11 Home
ROG 790 Hero ATX Board
RTX 4090
Steam-Based

Just a thought FWIW - have you checked to make sure that mods have not been set to "on" by accident or for some reason?

How would you check that?

In the main option screen, with other basic options, I have 'Display custom skins" and "custom maps" unchecked, if that's what you mean?  Is there another place outside the game to activate/de-activate 'mods'?

Out of game from the launcher, settings tab.

In game from settings, game.

Hope this helps.

Have a nice day.

Under the Game tab in settings, 'Enable Mods' was, and is unchecked.  So - not that.

Its probably unlikely but maybe you got baned ? i remenber they said that they can ban players from MP only, and if you can do SP but cant MP, check with admins if they got you baned, as outside of some game bug or mod on i dont know why you would not be able to see MP servers

I feel like I'd have gotten some sort of email or message about that?  I don't have any.
Which admins would I check with about that?

Another interesting tidbit to this whole scenario -
File Validation through Steam continually comes up with 1 file failing to validate, saying it will be re-acquired, but it doesn't say which one.

I'll run validation - start the game to check - exit - re-run validation - file fails to validate again.  It just keeps not getting that one file?  I'm confused.

i would pm BlackSix or Wardog to check if its ban thats problem, there should be list of ppl they ban, i doubt they would send ppl warnings.

I imagine they would need to for legal reasons, I figure they're on top of that stuff, being a professional studio.

I finally got all the files to validate - but still no servers. ?

Have you made any changes to your startup file? Is the startup file "read only"? Last Sunday, I had the same problem. Even when I unchecked the "mods enabled" boxes, I still couldn't go online. I had to change the startup file from read only then start game. Go to settings graphics and hit accept, the restart the game.

It seemed like with the changes I made to the startup file, the thought I had modded the file.

Good double check, but no, even after re-installing the game from scratch and starting it up with no changes to defaults, yields me 0 servers listed.

Also - to the person above who mentioned - I checked, and I am not banned for any reason - so, not that either.  Still no lists.

Would a Developer care to take a stab at this?

The only trick left i have is to completely uninstall and wipe the hard drive, and start over as if from a fresh off the shelf computer.

I feel like that shouldn't be necessary.  But I'm out of ideas.

For test he could just start game from his C:\IL-2 Sturmovik Great Battles\bin\game folder Il-2.exe (turn of steam first) and use his login info from profile and game will run without steam and he will have acces only to stuff he buy from web page.  Next time he start from steam he would again have to conect acounts to again have steam and web stuf.

Tried the above - Same result.

I'm going to try wiping the hard drive and reinstalling fresh from everything.  I think it's the only thing I've not tried yet.

I have 1 more idea I would go through all your IL2 folders and change all the files permissions..
