SCG_motoadve Posted March 9, 2023 Posted March 9, 2023 Bought a joystick from Vitaly a couple of years ago, it has been great so far until now Now I get this error and does not work. Any ideas how to fix it? Your game controller is not connected correctly Please verify that is plugged to your computer
Sokol1 Posted March 9, 2023 Posted March 9, 2023 (edited) Do this test: open a game in what this controller was previously set and test some buttons. If they work then the error in Games Controllers could be a Windows Register error, may due recent Windows Update. Just a guess. See similar case with MMjoy2 - different from MJ16 but with common origem. Edited March 9, 2023 by Sokol1

FlyingH Posted March 10, 2023 Posted March 10, 2023 May that be windows habit of shutting down usb ports from time to time for "energy saving" puposses? Check the settings for usb ports. 1

Check the settings for usb ports. I was reminded of that, too. Although: Can't say I recall ever seeing that "your game controller isn't connected properly" error message from any Windows version I've used ... ? I've had issues vaguely similar to this with the PS3 Eye camera I use for Opentrack. Every once in a while it just wouldn't work and Windows would show me one of those yellow warning triangles for it in device manager and/or the devices and printers screen. Quick fix was to simply re-plug the camera (which always did the trick) - more permanent "fix" was to manually disable that "Windows may shut down device to save power" setting for all my USB ports/devices. jollyjack Posted March 11, 2023 Posted March 11, 2023 (edited) Your error message seems a driver issue, if you used an installer, reinstall it? Otherwise these steps might fix it: 1) Device manager, USB, all USB hub entries, check if Power Management is disabled, turned OFF. 2) open devices.txt in the game's data\input folder it should read something like: ------------ configId,guid, model| 0,%2248666970-95d4-11ed-0000545345440b80%22,Joystick%20-%20HOTAS%20Warthog| 1,%224a0fe730-a26b-11ed-0000545345440980%22,Throttle%20-%20HOTAS%20Warthog| --------------------------- These blue numbers are the ones that correspond with the 0 and 1 used in the key mapping for your joystick and hardware controller in the game's settings Edited March 11, 2023 by jollyjack
