340  Full News  -go here for full text and visual materials

 

Dear Friends, 

 

Our project had received numerous improvements in the recent months, including the customizable tactical numbers for aircraft and ground vehicles in all game modes. Since we always strive to upgrade the existing content of the sim using the new features, we’re going to update the existing payware and free campaigns and share some of our plans on the new ones.

Thanks for this DD !

It is really nice to know further improvements for campaigns for the existing

 maps, planes and vehicles is not forgotten.

Looking forward to this new update.

"once IAR-80/81 and not yet announced collector aircraft are released they are likely to be added to these campaigns as AI units."

 

Let the speculation begin...

I have always appreciated the scripted campaigns. Thanks B6 for your hard and diligent and sometimes free work!

Let me do some guesswork. Is it this guy, the La-5F with lowback?

La-5F with lowback didn't take part in the Battle of Stalingrad and began to enter the front only in the spring and summer of 1943.

Well, I'm hoping for a Pe-3 (or I-153) - it won't be either of those, but I'm hoping anyway. Same goes for a Fw-189 or Fi-156! :) 

Hoping is fun if one has developed the skill to somehow neo-dodge the disappointment when it inevitably arrives.

This is great stuff but I really just want to know that Great Battles isn't dead.

 

My vote is for the 109 G-4 Kuban campaign. I was bummed when B6 said he wasn't going to do it earlier, so I'm excited if it's still on the table. I had such a fun time in Steel Birds watching the G-4s tear apart the soviet fighter screen ahead of us.

In any case, 109 G-4 will not be the next campaign, since 3 campaigns for the Kuban in a row is already too much. But I really want to make it for the autumn map. There was a very intersting period for "my" I./JG 52.

Glad to see that the existing campaigns will be updated (hope B-26s are added in Wind of Fury) and good luck with future campaigns, but what about the next installment? We have heard no word about its status in 6 months and I kindly ask if you could give us an update on when you will announce it.

 

Thank you and I'll greatly look forward to flying the Typhoon in its new campaign!

Agreed - that phase of Kuban is the most interesting IMO.

I appreciate the Devs effort to update the existing campaigns to improve the gaming experience. However, I would really like to hear more on how the Devs intend to fix/improve IL2 Tank Crew. AFAIK, there has not been a significant update to TC for a very long time. TC has so much potential if some love was given to it. Please visit the TC forum and read through the posts. The Devs can find a multitude of fixes being requested with the TC forum.

After almost all of the campaigns (either payware or freeware) so far are for fighters/fighter bombers I wonder whether there will be in the near future a campaign for the blue side that is based on bombers (He 111, Ju 88) or Stuka ? Would be much appreciated since this has so far been neglected  :(

Doesn't make sense with the current AI. Or do you want to fly your campaign in an altitude of 1500m?

A campaign based on Hans Rudel And his squadron would be epic!   Let’s Go!
