I received an email about this the other day. Looks quite impressive - no more wires or head trackers required: just an infrared sensor:

That does indeed look interesting. I might take a punt on it as I'm fed up with the TrackIR wire always twisting up and getting in the way.

Interesting for me too. I fly with a g2 vr setup. But prefer 2d in msfs long flights and some DCs modules

This looks interesting. Is the only benefit that no head tracker is necessary? I'm usually interested in trying new hardware but my TrackIR with a wireless head tracker work just fine. Unless I’m missing something…

I'm also wondering what this has to offer that is better than using a webcam with AITrack in a room where the amount and direction of light is easily controlled.

Got it - I just received notice about mine being shipped today, so hopefully (or someone else) can share their input soon.

I have a window behind my desk, so have to close the blinds when using my current wireless TrackHat sensor.  I'm interested to see if this version does indeed perform well if there is a rear light source.  Getting sick of flying in a darkened room during daylight hours.

Same here - it's not often that I'm at my gaming computer during the daytime, but when I do I usually have to close the blinds because of the awful reflections that hit off the camera.

Olaf; thanks for this, you caused me to order one ...?

PS i had the version 1 before and used Opentrack for it, if you still need my profile, PM me.

I bought a TrackIR5 after a few months, works better; even passive 3 point cap reflector, thuswithout the active lights unit even.

I received mine today and so I'm still trying to figure out the best settings for it. First impressions is that it is very twitchy compared to TrackIR.

Nice I have one ordered but haven't received it yet. I'm very excited to try it out. I normally only fly in VR. But I like to fly bombers with trackIR.

Well, now I've gone and screwed something up, because now I can't get the TrackHat app to load the camera. Any ideas, anyone?

Yes, I did try that, but it didn't work. :( I have a support ticket opened with TrackHat, so I'll see what happens.

The usual ... an anti-virus issue? Or even some other windows privacy setting?

You could install O&Oshutup, to seen what is blocked regarding windows items.

PS you should make a restore point if you make changes with it, and backup current settings first.

Try taking a look at your Windows Privacy & Security > Camera settings.  You may have inadvertently turned off (denied) access to the Trackhat V2?

You also found it twitchy.  They do seem to warn us that it may take some customization.  There is a decent video at https://www.trackhat.org/support that gets you started with customization.  Didn't take me long to get something I like.  Nice that I can also bind the centering to a joystick button.

I'm very happy with this.  I too fly primarily in VR, and have had a TrackIR for millenia.  I really like that I don't have to wear anything on my head and no attachment to a power source for the occasions when I want to test/check something outside of VR.

Thanks, I'll take a look at that. ?? I'm still exchanging emails with James at TrackHat to try getting this resolved.

That said, even if I do get it working again, I'm wondering if it's going to be worth it for me to keep. Yes, TrackIR is wired and all that, but it's always worked flawlessly for me for years now. When the original clip broke on me, I just replaced it with a new one from DelanClip and have kept right on going. But, for now at least, I'll keep on trying.

I've had something similar. It worked great for a while, but then developed a random disconnect/connect issue.

For the past few weeks it would be active in the list of devices but, when I loaded Trackhat Opentrack V3, the very instance I hit 'start' the camera would disconnect. Same thing happened with the Windows Camera app, and it would often connect/disconnect continuously.

I'm now at the point where Windows doesn't even register the Sensor - but it is receiving power. I've had a few emails to and from James but have not solved it. ?

I use Tobii Eyetracker (for Star Citizen) and TrackIR (IL-2 GB & DCS)

All much better than any other trackers I have tried.

Yes, I'm still trying to get this thing figured out. I'm at the point right now where he wants me to try it out on another PC. Hopefully I can try it out tonight.

Yes. In Opentrack/modules folder.

Keep a copy of opentrack-video-ps3eye.dll in case deleting doesn't help.

Well, I ran USBLogView whilst running the TrackHat V3.1 software and it's registering my connect/disconnect as a plug/unplug scenario. It must somehow be power related..?

I've got a spare windows laptop which I'll test later. I just can't find the charger! ?

Interesting, I don't have a copy of that file at all in my installation folder. Now where to go from here, I have no idea. ?

Since yesterday i have exactly the same issues. Contacted their support, but no solution yet.

Camera etc on .. and there's no ps3eye.dll nowhere, also not in windows itself.

Hardware is seen in USBdeview, leds work, Opentrack v 3.1 does sees hardware,

Software starts with IL2 and DCS OK, but it seems the camera does not work.

When started OT crashes when you press camera settings in options.

ADDED:  Got it working, updated windows, restarted after removing unused USB drivers with USBdeview, plugged the hardware into a higher rated USB port at the MB backplate ... Bingo!

Curious: After all the adjustments you had to make to get this to work, is there anything different than what the other head trackers offer? Is there something different/better that makes this a must-have?

Hi, I've got new Trackhat sensor v2 but it's jittery, any help? The device does work, and it's pretty nifty, but it's "jittery". I've got a screen recording here:  https://imgur.com/a/nNr68jP

Thanks for any help!

PS You'll also have to allow Camera access in windows:

Good to see you got it working. ?? I ended up returning mine - I didn't feel like wasting any more time trying to get it to work, and in the end, TrackIR still works perfectly fine for me.

Well i was thinking to return it, because of the shaky movements i cannot get right just yet, but i am still trying; i hate that obliged baseball cap etc ..

Must have to do with false background lighting influences ... But i still have my TrackIR5.

After having new issues i got it going again: Just manually put the npclient and freetrackclient dll drivers in system32 and the 64 versions in sysWOW64 .... PS the shakymess IMO was due backlighting with the 3.1 Trackhat Opentrack drivers, it's a lot better with 3.2. There  sem to be a newer version coming out soon according the site.
