I own a HP Reverb G2 since 2 Years and everything worked fined until a few days ago. I played Il 2 in the evening and while trying to start up everything the next day, WMR Portal gave the instruction to connect the headset. The cables were plugged in but none of the lights on the headset were on. I switched the USB C cable to an adapter at a USB A port which enlighted the light at the box with the power cable.

Since I still wouldn't work I ordered a new cable hoping that would be the problem. The new cable arrived today, but nothing really changed. The only difference is that the box light is also on while the USB C cable is plugged to a USB C port.

Maybe someone else hab a similar problem and could fix that? I hope the Headset is not defect.

Had a similar problem - I solved it by removing the cable from the headset and plugging it back in again.

The plastic cover on the cable splits near the headset socket due to the tight angle created when the headband is in the up position, and the connector can work loose with repeated moving of the headband (which is in fact what HP advises you to do when putting the headset on and taking it off).

However it sounds like you've already tried this solution, if you've bought a new cable.

I got the hint from a video on YT somewhere, and there were a bunch of other ideas to fix this very common problem with the Reverb.

Hope you sort it out.
